Sunday 16 October 2005 The autumn Croydon 10k Race together with a new 3k Fun Run on Sunday 16th October, takes on an exciting new perspective with its associated role as The Eagles 100th birthday celebration event. The race is still organised by Croydon Harriers in conjunction with Croydon Council. Our many hundreds of regular supporters, boosted by many others associated with our local football heroes, while enjoying our well established popular and challenging route, will doubtless be delighted to learn the race will feature high tech for the first time, with the introduction of Chips for more accurate results. The start/ finish area is adjacent to Lloyd Park Avenue at the bottom of beautiful Lloyd Park and very near the convenient Lloyd Park Tramlink stop. With the football clubs input on the staffing side, we expect our already well marked course even better stewarded, and the pre-event warm up to be enhanced with the involvement of Palace stars, Mascots and further support from their physiotherapists. As usual, we provide water for all 10k runners at approximately 5k and at the finish plus medals for all finishers. We look forward to your involvement, which we feel sure you will find challenging and rewarding. Book yourself and your friends and family in now, to guarantee your place in what promises to be our best promotion yet. We always support the Mayor of Croydons Charities and while welcoming your support for them we also encourage individuals to raise funds through our event for any other charities they personally back.
